photo by a very sincere person, Paul Baribeau

i crave

above all else

pure and complete

this is something my soul

silently begs for.

there’s something about watching

spill (sometimes clumsily)

out of goofy, patched-up humans.

how endearing.

the honesty of people

who know the length of their folly

as well as the simple & patient love

that brought them back from it.

the humble security that comes

from fully understanding

that we’ll never

fully understand.

and being ok with that.

so i guess that’s where i begin.

to encounter sincerity

first i must become sincere.

i don’t know what that means

but i know what it looks like.
